TAGGIT Privacy Policy
ATN Global (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting information associated with your use of the TAGGIT mobile application (“TAGGIT” or the “App”).
TAGGIT is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device monitoring application that enables users to add and monitor compatible BLE-enabled devices, view estimated device proximity, receive proximity alerts, and use background monitoring features.
This Privacy Policy explains what information TAGGIT accesses and processes, why permissions are required, how information is used, and the choices available to users.
Information TAGGIT Accesses and Processes
TAGGIT processes information necessary to provide its BLE device-monitoring functionality. Customer information used by TAGGIT is primarily processed locally on the user's mobile device.
TAGGIT does not store customer personal data, location information, BLE device information, or monitoring information on ATN Global servers.
Email Address
TAGGIT asks users to provide an email address for email verification.
A six-digit one-time password (OTP) is sent to the email address provided by the user. The user enters this OTP in TAGGIT to complete email verification.
The email address is used for:
-
Email verification; and
-
Delivery of the verification OTP.
TAGGIT does not require users to create a traditional username/password account.
TAGGIT does not maintain a customer account database or store the user's email address on an ATN Global server. The email address may be processed by the email-delivery infrastructure used to send the OTP message.
Bluetooth and BLE Device Information
TAGGIT uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) functionality to discover and monitor compatible BLE-enabled devices. Depending on the device and Android version, TAGGIT may access and process information such as:

-
Support device proximity monitoring;
-
Associate location information with relevant device alerts; and
-
Provide location or map-related functionality available within TAGGIT.
When applicable, TAGGIT may use location information while device monitoring is active in the foreground or background.
TAGGIT processes location information locally on the user's device. TAGGIT does not upload or store the user's location information on ATN Global servers.
TAGGIT does not use location information for advertising or marketing purposes. Users can control location permissions through their Android device settings.
Background Device Monitoring
TAGGIT provides background BLE device-monitoring functionality. When device monitoring is active, TAGGIT may use an Android foreground service to continue monitoring compatible BLE devices when the App is not actively displayed on the screen.
Android displays a persistent notification while foreground-service monitoring is active. For example, the App may display a notification indicating that device monitoring is active.
Background monitoring is used to support device monitoring and proximity-alert functionality. Information generated through background monitoring is processed locally on the user's mobile device and is not stored on ATN Global servers.
Camera and QR Code Scanning
TAGGIT may request access to the device camera for QR-code scanning.
Camera access is used to scan QR codes associated with compatible devices so users can add or identify supported devices.
TAGGIT does not use the camera for advertising, marketing, surveillance, or purposes unrelated to the QR-code scanning functionality.
Images from the camera are not stored on ATN Global servers as part of the QR-code scanning process. Users can control camera permission through their Android device settings.
Notifications
TAGGIT may request permission to send notifications. Notifications may be used for functionality including:
-
Device-monitoring status;
-
Background-monitoring status;
-
Proximity alerts; and
-
Other device-related alerts.
Users can manage TAGGIT notification permissions through their Android device settings.

For email verification, the email address supplied by the user is processed as necessary by the email-delivery infrastructure used to deliver the OTP verification message. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information associated with TAGGIT against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
TAGGIT's BLE device-monitoring information is primarily processed locally on the user's mobile device.
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their mobile devices and controlling access to their devices. No electronic storage, network communication, or method of data transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Android Permissions Used by TAGGIT
Depending on the Android version and device capabilities, TAGGIT may request the following permissions.
